I was so excited when the plane took off from Molokai, and flew along the north coast, where the cliffs are. It is a place almost unreachable during the winter, and even dangerous by boat during the summer. The cliffs are beautiful and green. And an almost straight drop to the ocean below. How neat it was to follow along and be able to see some sights that I even recognized from the air, such as Halawa Valley, Turtle Rock, and the east side of Molokai. It was a beautiful day to fly.
Sad though I was to leave Molokai, it was time to go. Besides I had run out of yarn! I landed in Maui, changed planes, flew to Honolulu, and changed planes again, and flew into San Diego, where my beloved sister, Marty, waved happily to me as I came down the escalator, with my 20-something male seat partner, carrying some of my things! I seem to attract good looking men who help me. Perhaps I remind them of their own mothers!! I am sure that is it!
Today Marty took off with Deb, her very close friend. Deb has bought a house in Ashland, Oregon, and Marty is driving up with her to help her settle in. Right now I am alone with Aja, writing this, while wash is washing, and the dryer drying. Matilda is getting filled up with all my belongings, and tomorrow I leave here for Los Angeles to see Phil and Gihan.
Tomorrow I am going with Phil to the Venice Beach Mardi Gras parade, which Phil has marched in for several years. He dresses as Yoda and plays a drum. I get to see this event up close and personal this time, rather than see pictures. My camera is ready!
I will leave on March 7th for Virginia, trying to avoid any bad weather as I head back to Elkton, Virginia. I have already made all of my doctors' appointments for the end of March. Aren't I a good gal?
Life is good.
Adieu, Adios, A Hui Hou,
I love you all,
Sally
