Today is Friday and Phil is arriving on the high speed ferry from Boston at 3:30PM. We are getting ourselves ready to go to Provincetown and shop and then go cheer him when he steps off the ferry at the wharf.
We have been very lucky with the weather. We only had one day of pouring rain and that was earlier this week. Wellfleet is a beautiful little village with lots of galleries, shops, restaurants, people walking and on bicycles, people in cars, and of course on the bay side beach, called Mayo Beach...that is Brie looking at me...
There is a small lighthouse on the Wellfleet Wharf...
and from Mayo Beach you can see Pilgrim Tower in Provincetown...
Another view from Mayo Beach...
When Brie and I went to the market in Wellfleet, which has beach prices of course...captive audience you know...we parked next to a pick-up truck which had ARTIST printed on the doors. The hood had a welded sun on it...
along with a hood ornament...
and this sign on on the side of the bed...
There are lots of great art sculptures around, and I will be sharing them with you as I see them...
Last night, before sunset, Siobhan, Kat, Pepper and I drove out to Duck Beach to watch the sunset and let Pepper run. Dogs aren't allowed on most beaches around here until after 5PM. As I was walking, slower of course than my daughters, I took this picture of some houses across the marsh. Notice the white "poles". There were four of them there, and they were all rotating. They must be some kind of wind power source, but none of us knew what kind...
As I walked along the sandy path, I came to this sign which I loved...
and it referred to this, right above it on the dunes...
I finally made it to the dunes and the ocean, although we were still on the bay side. It was a good long walk for me, and I was grateful to just sit down on the sand and take in the beauty.
But first I got a hug from Siobhan...
and a great photo of my two beautiful daughters...
Pepper loves the beach and he and Kat and Siobhan went down along the shore line and walked...
Is this a happy dog or what?
The sunset was beautiful going down in and among clouds, and finally settling into the sea in a big red ball. The cloud formations were wonderful and varied, and as many of you know, I LOVE clouds...
The colors around us were stunning in the twilight as we walked back to the car...Goodbye to another beautiful day on Cape Cod.
I love you all,
A hui hou,
Sally
